Saturday, April 25th, 7:30pm at Park Place Church of God, with Guest Artists, The Anderson University Choruses
This poignant program traces the human experience of war—from memory and mourning to resilience and hope. William Grant Still’s “Danzas de Panamá”opens with vibrant rhythms rooted in Afro-Caribbean tradition, Ravel’s “Le Tombeau de Couperin”, written in memory of friends lost in World War I, offers delicate elegance and quiet reflection, and Bob Chilcott’s “Move Him Into the Sun”, a choral setting of war poetry by Wilfred Owen, gives a haunting voice to the sorrow and sacrifice of soldiers on the front lines. The evening also includes Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony, every piece proving that creativity endures even in the darkest times.
Please note, this is a general admission concert at Park Place Church of God.
